A Historical City
Recognized as the birthplace of a Quebec hockey legend, Guy Lafleur, it is not surprising to know that Place Guy Lafleur in Thurso attracts a large multitude of visitors. Inaugurated in September 2013, Place Guy Lafleur attracts honors and is the recipient of several awards, including the Tribute from the ADMQ for its mobilization of the Thurso population and the creation of a great sense of belonging.
In front of the town hall, the Bronze of Guy Lafleur stands tall. Hockey fanatics will be delighted to visit the huge 2.5-meter statue, an excellent place to take photos. In the company of Santa Claus, citizens can attend the annual illumination of Place Guy Lafleur at the beginning of every December.
